Our saga dedicated to National 1 today it takes us to Cognac-Saint-Jean-d’Angély. Phew! This is the feeling that theUnion Cognac Saint-Jean-d’Angely last season In addition, the maintenance was acquired on the last day after a victory against in extremis against Chambery at home (33-27).

After this complicated season, UCS does not want to relive the same nightmares from before. Therefore, the management club Fabrice Landreau heavily recruited, because he knows how dense and tough this championship is.

Stability at the front, speed at the back

A new era begins next to Charente. With no less than 25 departures including the historic Richard Aho, Tunai Vatubua, Julien Berger and Isikeli Davetawalu, the promising Quentin L alarm, Téo Dospital or Loïc Mioche, it must be said that the UCS has done a hell of a cleaning. But the manager Fabrice Landreau, who went through the French stadium and thefrench team (4 selections), know the requirements of the high level.

To fill the departures on the forward pack, UCS first registered the signing of two Georgians: Giorgi Zakashvili (Bourgoin) and Aliko Kaikatsishvili (Graulhet). Graulhet prostitute Bryan Bruno returns to the club while Paul Sauzaret also arrives, having passed through Castres. Fabrice Landreau and his assistants have also secured the services of experienced and mastered Junior Utu Maninoa (ex Aurillac, Montauban and Tarbes) as well as Filipe Manu (ex-Biarritz and Tarbes in particular).

Young Fijians Isimeli Kuruibua and Ratu Jone Naulunisau are coming to look for playing time in the National 1. In the back lines, the Charente club will be able to send some play. Rhema Sagot signed up, as did Henry Tuilagi (the son, of course). On the wings, Vincent Pageneau returns from Sarlat while the young Nils Guyon will try to find his place, next to the former wing three quarters of the LOU, Jon Tuva.

Hard to do worse than last season

With so much recruiting, it’s hard to imagine UCS in the dreaded relegation spots. But it must be remembered that the Union Cognac Saint-Jean-d’Angély bordered on correctional last season. With 18 defeats on the clock, Fabrice Landreau’s team never did better than 10th place in the previous edition. If the ambitions of a promotion to Pro D2 “for 2022” have not been successful, the Charente club leaves with new goals.

To start their season, UCS will host last year’s semi-finalist VRDR before a trip to Tarbes, host Bourg-en-Bresse and host Chambéry. This is a tough looking blog!
