Game news F1 22: The PS5 version will have an advantage
The launch of F1 22 and the communication around the Electronic Arts title are approaching. Following the announcement of the arrival of virtual reality in the racing game, we now know that the PlayStation 5 version of the game will have an advantage over other game consoles.
The DualSense at the service of sensations
If only a few hours ago we learned that the PC version of F1 22 will be compatible with Valve Index, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift VR headphones to put you completely in the shoes of a driver, from now on EA indicates that the PlayStation 5 version will also be entitled to a small additional feature. The game developed by Codemasters, such as Gran Turismo 7, aims to take into account the different features of the DualSense, the PlayStation 5 controller, to maximize the sensations.
As you may have guessed, the July 1 mechanical sports game will use the adaptive trigger triggers on Sony’s latest machine driver. The goal here is to strengthen the resistance of the triggers during braking or loss of control of a vehicle in order to strengthen the dive.
For the PS5, adaptive triggers are used by directly relating the trigger resistance to the slip ratio of the tires. This means that when the car “steers” in braking, the degree of resistance of the brake trigger also increases, allowing a more immersive connection with the car. Similarly, if you go to shore, the throttle trigger resistance increases. A subtle difference between the default resistance of the throttle and brake triggers has also been implemented to simulate the pressure difference needed to activate the brake pedal compared to what is needed to activate the gas pedal in a Formula car. 1 real. Haptic feedback and speaker also in the program
That’s not all, Codemasters also clarified that haptic feedback, as well as the DualSense speaker, will also be put to good use. The first technology will allow players to feel the collisions thanks to the vibrations of the controller, but also to the different textures of the terrain. Therefore, we imagine that we will be alerted quickly by localized vibrations when leaving the road for example.
By using the PS5 DualSense driver’s haptic feedback, the sensations of collisions and surfaces have been greatly improved. This haptic feedback helps to communicate fragments of individual surface debris and therefore creates a much more immersive experience when rendering the car at a specific location on the track. More specifically, this sensation can be located on the left or right. A perfect example of this is when only the left wheels of the player’s car are pressed aggressively against the side of the road, the feedback is only heard on the left side of the controller, increasing realism. Finally, the controller speaker will be used when a career engineer decides to speak. The latter, above all, gives directions on the circuit and helps you reach your destination thanks to his good advice.
As a reminder, F1 22 is expected on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One on July 1, 2022.
